Staniel Cay : Boat Life Ep.3

Breaking news I’m the world’s biggest idiot. How many times have you ever seen a laundromat slash bar? I want to clear this up because I’m disappointed in myself. What’s up guys? So we made it to Stan yell key.

We got here a couple nights ago. We haven’t really ventured out too much. I’ve, just been inside editing our videos, and now today we’re gonna go check out. We’re gonna go to land and we’re gonna check.

Everything out this island has pretty much everything you can really need. I mean not like crazy, not like if you went to Fort Lauderdale in the US, but it has pretty much everything you could use there’s, multiple grocery stores.

I read a few reviews because you know I can’t, stop won’t. Stop. I put a few reviews and pink pearl, I think, is the grocery store with the best prices. So we’re, probably gonna hit that up. We’re gonna check about trash water, and we’re.

Just gonna hang out today and check out the island, so it should be a pretty easy relaxing day. You got anything to say Matt good morning. It rained pretty much all of last night and I got wet. He was in a dry spot.

My v-berth starts leaking after hours of rain, but yes, so we might see some people. It looks like a pretty good community here. I see the pigs from the beach and those things are freaking huge, like I’m scared of those pigs, so we might pick up some treats for them too, at the grocery store.

We did the old slap it in a bush and hopefully it’s. Just a visual [ Music ] don’t. You get in there aren’t you going a little kissing, [ Applause, ], [, Music ]. We got a few items. We totally forgot that it’s Sunday, so everywhere it’s pretty much closed, and on top of that it’s Easter.

But she let us in she was a nice lady and there was some items, but the shipment doesn’t come in till Wednesday, so there wasn’t too many things and right before we got there, some guy still up all the Eggs, so we couldn’t get any eggs, but you got some stuff.

We’re gonna try some goon bay, fruit, champagne, some kind of soda they have here. So that should be exciting and it was. We got also got two bottles of liquor. How do you feel about? How do you feel about our liquor steal? The liquor was cool.

The liquor prices were comparable to the States, was at 24 bucks a bottle that’s. Like I mean those are probably $ 18 bottles and say what she wasn’t supposed to sell it to us, because it was Sunday you don’t want to put her on blast, though, but we showed it in our backpack.

She said put in your backpack, so no she did it. She did not say that if we did not buy any liquor yeah so now we’re, just gonna walk back and we need to get ice still yeah. I got that at the marina good morning, so, as you saw really, we were provisioning.

I got this gangster soda because I’m all out of sodas now in the Bahamas, and I’m cutting. Now I’m trying to get my fight body back, so we splurged and got this Gombe fruit, champagne. You know how we were talking about in the last video.

I wanted that champagne a little bit of that champagne taste. So now we have this champagne, but it’s, just soda right, uh yeah. It says it’s, carbonated beverage, it’s. Fruit, champagne! Try it up! Let’s.

Go! Is it good? Okay, smells like like melted, sherbert, popsicles or something he’s, a big soda man. Yeah trust me. This is really good. This is like carbonated melted, popsicles. It’s, pretty much it’s really hitting the spot.

So bohemian soda is a plus the goon Bay, get it get it while it’s hot okay. So now that the rains gone from yesterday, we’re gonna go venture out. We want to hang out at this a little island that looks like other cruisers go to.

We bought a bottle of rum at the pink pearl, so we are gonna make a drink and my Yeti cup, but we kind of don’t, have anything to mix with it and Matt or chug that soda. That could have been something.

But we’re gonna use, pineapple juice from a pineapple can and see how that tastes. It’s. Pretty much gonna be super strong and maybe kind of syrupy, but we’re gonna put on a lot of ice and we’re just gonna lightly sip it throughout the day we’re only bringing one Cup, so it should be fine right call me mind if I oh wait, you’re, making two cups try this.

We tried to come to this cool beach, and then everybody just leaves us doesn ‘ T want to hang with us seems like any time we go anywhere. People just happen to be leaving, but I sparked a piggy.

So I’m gonna go look at the piggy [ Music ] all right. So, at that little beach we went up this path. That was like a hike. It looks like a lot of people take it. We came to the most beautiful sights ever you can see Islands and Islands and all the beautiful blue water.

Take a look. What do you think about these views? Matt? Well, since we do have a minimalistic approach on making videos here it good, bad and ugly. We’re, going to get some shots here, and this is going to be as close to a drone as you ever gonna get on this channel so hope you enjoy guys it’s another day in Staniel key.

We thought about doing some laundry. We came out to town, we found like the it’s like a pretty new laundromat, but it’s. Pretty pricey, though itself it’s. One of the self-service, though they don’t, have many self-service here and on the other side, is a bar like how many times have you ever seen a laundromat slash bar that’s, how they hook you that’s? How they get you trapped in the Bahamas? You know there’s, a bar everywhere, connected to everything.

Let go there’s. Some Vienna sausages, those I’ve, noticed a lot yeah. They always have Vienna sausages at the bars. Like that must be your little snack, you have a couple beers. What’s, a delicious treat for Vienna sausages? We’re at the basketball court right now, but I gonna set up a hoops game later.

I think we’re gonna check out how fast the Internet is to see. If maybe I can upload a video and we’re gonna go back to the pink pearl to see if they have eggs. This time I’m. Getting on you, whoa big dog, getting an onion it’s.

I want to clear this up because I’m disappointed in myself and my research I looked up where the cheapest grocery store is. I saw from a lot of cruisers websites, they all said pink pearl. They said you get the best deals there.

It’s almost comparable to America, so we went there a couple times. We were there a couple times and we’re. Like this is not comparable, it’s like three times the price, but if this is the cheapest place here we better just keep going so we went for eggs again today, still didn’t get eggs, so we’re, Like let’s venture out, let’s check out the Isles general, which is like a little further walk, but you stay still like a dinghy dock outside, but we walked around because we were already dinghy docked at the other place and All the prices were way better.

The grocery store was way better. They had more food options, more meat options, they still didn’t have eggs, but the prices were what way better. So I don’t know they need people thing. Is the websites up there like you’re a couple years old, so I understand why the prices are probably different, but research, doesn’t, always work that’s.

All I’m saying you got to go check it all out. What are you have the same net yeah? You should go to the town. You should go to every store and buy a soda at every store because they’re. All so the good thing about the Isles generals, they have a whole wall with the prices right on the wall, so you know in America, were used to knowing what we’re gonna pay.

I don’t want to roll up in some spot, grab 25 tomatoes. Why would you ever grab twenty-five tomatoes? Because I’m gonna make like a nice marinara, he’s, making that up. We went to the bar. Also, big dogs bar, it was really nice, actually looked pretty brand new.

That’s. Probably why he’s, saying 25 tomatoes all right. What do you think we did go to the park but either way it’s good to know what the price is, because you don’t want to buy. You know two gallons of water, a loaf of bread and the guy.

Do you know the person that can just kind of make up whatever they want to say at a time now that they do, but that’s? How you feel so yeah they have listed. Prices go down, go to every store, don’t, just listen to what people say, check them all out and definitely if you see the eggs grab them up because they’ll be gone real fast.

So we’re. Just hanging out now at the marina drinking our drinking our drinks from the bar and watching the Sharky’s. They have another spot of swimming with sharks, but they on their sign. They say they will and they do bite.

So I’m trying to get Matt to go in there. I’m trying to get him a bit for some reason. I don’t know why, just for some entertainment – I guess you know just to let that island time pass by island. Time is real, but I will not get bit.

I got bit by a nurse shark in Key West. There’s. No joke you’ve lost it. I know it was there, though it’s like it’s like there. I only see it. I really wipe it in, but yeah I got bit up. Sometimes it gives me eggs, mom yeah.

I got bit there. Luckily, my friend Kalish was there to save my life. He helped me out fried its mouth open. Oh, we’re just hanging out. Now we pretty much looked around the whole city today by what we could by foot and we’re, probably gonna be leaving soon.

We found the the best Wi-Fi. Also, a lot of people say you can go to the taste and see and get Wi-Fi. It looks like it’s under construction, and I tested the Wi-Fi on a tester on my phone and it’s really slow.

So there would be no way I could upload a video, but the marina gave it to us for free their password. So we’re in it. We’re in it to win it y’all yeah, all right guys. Another day that’s, Daniel key, we’re, deciding to make some pina coladas the best that we think we can have.

We ever made them before Matt um, not this type. But as we know, I was a world-famous bartender on Duval Street in Key West, so I can do it. I think I’m gonna be able to do it. Once I get my. What was that cocktail movie got my shades on got.

My ingredients are no Tom Cruise. I’m about to whip together a pina colada all right, so let’s show off the ingredients we got here. I got my Roland creme de coconut, our cream of coconut excuse me, and I was pretty chunky our know.

If it’s old whoa, that’s expensive out here, Blue Bird pineapple juice from concentrate, we couldn’t, get the real stuff, and then I got my Makati Cuban Cuban rum. We’re in the Bahamas, be sure to probably got Bahamian run, but we got ta do what we got.

Ta do and I got mice we’re gonna try to use what this machine. Oh, my nutribullet yeah it’s. Not it is a ninja right. It’s, a nutribullet, Oh magic bullet. I’m just reading. I don’t. I don’t memorize.

What all these tools are? I’m. I’m thinking right now. It’s, probably not gon. Na work play. I’m gonna drink it anyways, because you know we can’t waste. Our alcohol and then we’re, probably gonna hit the beach or something that seems like a proper amount of lick.

Are you’re? Not you’re gonna measure. Oh, you just counted a real bar. If you don’t put the right amount of stuff when you do a frozen drink, it comes out too watery or too weird. What does that more ice? You can always put a floater on top if it’s, not stronger.

Fine. No, you do yours, I’ll, make mine. After by myself, I like mine, real coconutty, so I always make my drinks to taste: hmm mighty fine. So now you’re. Looking at that rest of your boy! Now you looking at that recipe a little bit of pineapple, make it happen all right, then I screw on my handy-dandy nutribullet lathe.

The inverter is gonna go off so don’t, be don’t, be scared of that. It’s. Gon na make a big beep. You have to turn it on. No, my bloopers here we go. Okay. Now that I got my slurry nice and mixed now, I got ta get more ice in there.

I just want to get a good mix. Now I’m gonna mix in you know the ice little by little yeah. I think I’m gonna have to transpose same one on the rocks. Isn’t bad either. Oh God come on inverter. You got ta, get some more solar powers power for this okay, so you put this in here.

You’re, calling it on yours. No thank you get the ice going now. This is I get it come in. You see. Now you got a nice, oh yeah, that’s, a big that’s, nice Pina, Colada juice. Right there, oh wait. The end actually looks like it was right.

The very end of it is it good? Are you just saying that taste it just like the best people? I’ve ever had this side, yeah hot fire flames, don ‘ T deny it. It is really good it’s, not watered down or anything, and it tastes like it has some alcohol in it.

My problem is, I use all the ice and I got a bustle. Oh well, thanks for making mine and I’m gonna relax now and drink. My pina colada. We’re just chilling. Now it’s a beautiful day and they exhume us and we’re just eating our pina coladas.

It can’t get better than this. What do you think? I think we’re drinking our pina coladas, but we could be eating them. How much more we’re gonna eat it’s a nice day out. I don’t. Think I’m. Ever gonna get used to this water, though Matt thinks that you’d, get used to it if you lived here, but I don’t know about that.

People become desensitized to whatever they’re around whatever it is. You get used to it, you think stupid, clear water do not want to be somewhere with a couple like mountains or a river. You know how people are I don’t know I’m doing this water.

I almost want to pull my raft out with a SUP reason. It seems so warm out here and everybody’s gonna hate on me in the comments for this comment, but I’m gonna say it anyways cuz. I can the water is cold for me, it does seem to be it’s a little bit chilly little chillier than you would think.

I mean it’s, just definitely not cold. It’s. 80 degrees outside burn me, though, when you get in the water and you’re in the water for a couple hours, I think it’s, just a breeze where we’re dealing with a North breeze right now too.

So if you’re in the water all day, it gets pretty it’s pretty chilly, but I that could just because we’re getting horribly sunburnt. We’re, just getting the chills some days. You just have these really great days.

You hang out the weather’s, beautiful the winds not too strong and you drink homemade, pina, coladas yeah. You go to buy some eggs which we still did not get. This is like the third time trying. We give up, but I paid an advance for him this time I said so.

Look whenever you get eggs here’s, my money, those are mine. I still don’t believe we’re gonna get the eggs, even though you paid for them. She’s right. Oh, I forgot. Probably probably we’ll, keep you guys updated on the egg, but we didn’t get it buckle, but we did say you know what let’s, get some cream too coconut.

Let’s, get some pineapple juice and we’re gonna get ice anyway. It’s still cheaper than if we would have went to the bar well, yeah everything’s cheaper than the bar, but really it’s. It’s, not that expensive.

It is exactly what everyone says. It’s, gonna be at least twice as much as in the u.s. and sometimes three times as much so yeah. You know just adjust for that and provision a little bit better. Next time.

You know we’ll be set for life next time. If I’m gonna go 400 miles, I’m gonna have a crew. If we’re gonna provision, we’re comin. Better you just don’t. We’re, not you know first time and we don’t know really.

We’re trying our best, but we’re learning. I mean that’s. All that matters is that you learn and then next time it’s, gonna be even more comfortable and even more well. You know we bought a lot of food.

We did bring a lot. We still have a ton. You know we have enough food to last us another six weeks at least eight weeks we just exclusively on the boat but like in my life, I’ve, never bought that many groceries I’ve.

Never had that much groceries at my house, you know you go for the week and you don’t even get all the groceries you’re like oh, I’m gonna get dinner for a nine. I’ll, just come back, I never in my life.

If I bought seven eight nine hundred dollars worth of groceries, and then you know we just you really need to buy like two thousand dollars worth of provisions like you should just sit down. You should just for one week write down what you eat every day and then multiply that times 4 and then multiply that times 3 and then say: okay, that’s.

How much I have to break you know when you have 12 cases of soda. You’re, like I’ll, never drink this much soda two weeks yeah. But then, when you’re crossing, you know, or you have to sail for the day with your hand, steering you don’t get away from the helm, so it’s easier just to chug a soda for your calories Or like when you do finally get dinner, you’ll chug, two or three sodas.

I will I mean no one else probably would but it’s or you go die for five hours. You just chug a soda then, and I know you’ve been really drinking soda, so it’s all his soda, so you can ‘ T blame it on me.

Either I don’t know you chug. You use them for chaser, so that’s, a sip anyways. We’re just hanging out today today’s, an easy good boat day. I’m, pretty happy about it. [ Music, ]
