com /go that they’re they’re working on it right now and making it available that you can just do it on a bulk a modification and using templates across the board which will save us a lot of time so YouTube’s actually rolling this feature out really slowly I think they’re moving in the right direction to make our content more interactive but my question to you is do you actually have this functionality on your channel put your response in the comments below and love to hear if you’re actually using it and if you think it’s a great idea and if you’re not using it I want to hear it too because honestly I have a lot of channels that I actually manage and we only have a third of them that actually have this functionality and I think it’s brilliant because I’ve seen a lot of traffic increase on our channels by using this functionality so I’d love to hear your thoughts on that also a special note that this does not work on YouTube kids or YouTube music guys thank you so much for watching this video I’d love to hear your thoughts if you have any ideas for tips or techniques that you would like to learn put that in the comments below as well and if you haven’t subscribed yet what are you waiting for it’s time to subscribe so every week we have videos coming out helping you be more effective as a content creator or a marketer thank you guys so much for watching this video and have a wonderful and productive day – Greetings people of the internet.

This is your easy-going YouTube expert Derral Eves. Now, I think all of us have the goal to really develop and nurture a community, right? And make that community a lot more interactive around our content.

And YouTube for many years has really pushed and promoted, “Hey, get more interactive with your specific subscribers “and viewers and you’re actually cultivating a community.” And they’ve actually made tools to do this.

One being which annotations. Now, they’ve pushed annotations. Say, “Hey, you push annotations, “you get people to be more interactive with your content.” But the problem is more and more people are watching YouTube on mobile.

A lot more people are watching on mobile than desktop now and annotations don’t work. So in this video I’m gonna show you step-by-step of what you need to do to add these end-screen elements in your videos to really make more powerful and more interactive.

Let’s do this. – [Narrator] DerralEVES.com – So to add end screens to your videos, what we need to do is first activate the elements in a specific video. Now to do this we mouse up to the upper-right-hand corner, click on the avatar icon, and come to Creator Studio.

What we want to do is get to the Video Manager. If you mouse over to the left-hand side and click on Video Manager, we’re able to pull in all our videos. This is the library of all our videos. And what we need to do is select one video that we want to add these end screen elements.

So let’s go ahead and do this on this first one here. And you’re gonna see now that there’s a new tab that says end screens and annotations. Now, here’s the thing. You can either use the annotations which do not work on mobile or you can use end screens that work both on mobile and desktop.

You can’t do both. So let’s go ahead and click on that tab right there. Basically what it’s gonna do is launch the last 20 seconds of your video. Now, YouTube gives you the ability to add these elements for the last 20 seconds, so when you’re shooting new videos, you need to keep that in mind that, “Hey, “the last 20 seconds is where I’m able to add these elements “for the end screen.

” Now the elements you can add are Videos and Playlists, the Subscribe button, a Channel to promote another channel if you’re doing a collaboration, and a Link to approved websites. That would be with merchandise or your own websites that you authorize for that.

But to add these elements, all we need to do is click this blue button right here and it will have this drop-down and then we can just hit Create and here are the options. You can create the most recent upload, the best for viewer, or choose a video or playlist.

Now, here is the thing. We’ve done this for over a year with specific clients and I’ll tell you, best for viewer needs to be on every end screen. Let me tell you why. It’s because what this does is it looks at the history of the viewer and shows them exactly the right video for them to see or what’s the best video for them to see.

So it automatically puts it in this little screen here. What we can do is bring it down and you can adjust, you can adjust the bounding box a little bit if we want it a little bit bigger. And that’s how easy it is to create an element.

Let’s go ahead and add another element which is the Subscribe button. And what that does is you can see that you can just move this around and the Subscribe button is just your avatar icon, okay? And then the last one, go ahead and hit Create.

You can do Channel if you want to promote another channel so you can put the channel name in there or whatever if you’re collaborating. And it’ll do the same thing right here. It’ll just basically do a channel avatar.

And a link to the website, you can put in your associated website, so if we wanted to do something at geekify guys or you can do merchandise sites or crowdfunding sites if it is Patreon or any approved crowdfunding sources, okay? But for this video, I’m gonna just basically add another video and I’m gonna go ahead and do most recent upload ’cause the strategy that I’m looking here.

I’m gonna go ahead and put that over here and then you can see that it brings in elements. You can go from there. But what I found is best for viewer and most recent upload will get you the most traffic to your channel.

There are other options and combinations that you can use, but this is pretty much a really good way to do it. There’s multiple ways that you can position this so you can see that we weren’t planning on this.

You can actually put the Subscribe right here in the middle if you want to do that. I’m gonna keep it up here in the upper-left-hand corner. Then to save this, you can go ahead and hit Save. Now keep in mind that you also can use templates.

Now YouTube has given templates that you can just go ahead and pick and they just said, “Hey, this is what works, what’s the best.” The thing that I’ve found though is that it’s not necessarily the most effective way to do it.

This is just a really fast way to do it. And I would assume that here in the future that YouTube will do bulk updates. I know that TubeBuddy will. You can find that tool at TubeBuddy.com/go They’re working on it right now and making it available that you can just do it on a bulk modification and using templates across the board which will save us a lot of time.

So YouTube’s actually rolling this feature out really slowly. I think they’re moving in the right direction to make our content more interactive, but my question to you is, “Do you actually have this functionality on your channel?” Put your response in the comments below.

We’d love to hear if you’re actually using it and if you think it’s a great idea. And if you’re not using it, I wanna hear it too because honestly, I have a lot of channels that I actually manage and we only have a third of them that actually have this functionality and I think it’s brilliant because I’ve seen a lot of traffic increase on our channels by using this functionality.

So I’d love to hear your thoughts on that. Also, a special note that this does not work on YouTube Kids or YouTube Music. Guys, thank you so much for watching this video. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you have any ideas for tips or techniques that you would like to learn, put that in the comments below as well.

And if you haven’t subscribed yet, what are you waiting for? It’s time to subscribe. So every week we have videos coming out helping you be more effective as a content creator or a marketer. Thank you guys so much for watching this video and have a wonderful and productive day.
